This past weekend I made my first sale and delivery of a bouquet I grew myself (mostly)! We're amidst the time of year in the Seattle area colloquially regarded as "Juneuary", when the wind and rain hits hard and fierce and temps drop to highs that should be lows for a couple weeks. The result is a stall in plant growth and flower production. I knew it was coming but didn't completely think of the implications on my flower deliveries until it was upon us. Good to know for next year's planning! SO, I panicked a bit but luckily I had saved some peonies in my cooler and my ranunculus had bloomed with enough stems to allow for some great focal flowers. Thanks to contributions from some friends and some foraging here and there I was able to put together a large mixed bouquet!
My customer, Bonnie, dropped by on Sunday morning and picked up the bouquet and in all the excitement, I forgot to take a picture of it! <eye roll>. Luckily, she sent a picture of her final arrangement and I think it turned out well, if I do say so myself.
Every day there's a new experience to build on. I'm so grateful this worked out. I can't wait for the next sale!
